Rexroth MTX micro CNC system in horizontal milling machine applications

1 Introduction

According to the requirements of the customer to provide Q5 machine tools, we need the company's supporting CNC machining system.

Machine type - horizontal small milling machine processing center. The electrical system supporting requirements of the machine tool: simple installation, easy maintenance, fast dynamic response, high machining accuracy, and powerful high-speed milling processing, etc. The workpiece can be mounted once: clamping, drilling, tapping, curved surface machining, etc. Multi-process and three-axis linkage complex surface NC machining, and convenient R5 machine tool production. In combination with the above requirements, we chose the Bosch Rexroth MTX micro compact CNC system.

2. Overview and control requirements of machine tools

The machine tool has X, Y, Z three linear feed axes and one spindle without an attachment milling head. The axes of the feed axes X, Y and Z adopt high-precision rolling linear guides, and the mechanical transmission adopts a 1:1 coupling. The spindle box is equipped with a gear shift mechanism, which is divided into 2:1, the spindle drives 6 machining tools, and the tool is called at the same time to have tool compensation function.

The control requirements of the feed axis: Three-axis linkage interpolation movement of three linear axes without any attachment milling head. See Figure 1.1 below.

3. Electrical system support

According to the mechanical principles above, we chose the IndraDrive HCQ021 servo drive system that matches the following motors. X axis feed motor uses QSK061 motor of Rexroth 3.5NM, Y axis feed motor selects QSK061 with brake motor of Rexroth 3.5NM, Z axis feed motor selects QSK075 motor of Rexroth 12NM, and spindle motor selects GM7101- of Dengqi 23.6NM. 4SB61 motor, electrical configuration diagram as shown in Figure 1.2.

3.1 PLC function

Because the HCQ02 driver has its own PLC function, it is convenient for NC and PLC logic operation and data exchange. The driver is equipped with high-speed 32 inputs and 16 outputs as standard, and has 16 normal inputs and 32 outputs in the VDP80. The internal PLC can be used as an input/output I/O circuit to meet the needs of the machine tool and the driver is integrated. PLC, CNC system, and motor driver are integrated, which greatly saves the installation space of the electric cabinet.

3.2 NC program

The Bosch Rexroth MTX micro compact CNC system offers complete functionality for milling: the NC canned cycles, such as centering, drilling, boring, tapping, etc. The practical standard subroutines fulfill the different needs of the user. The center machine tool is fully utilized. The user can assign variable values ​​to the parameters according to the contour plan of the selected subroutine. After the storage, the variables are automatically generated into the current program block.

In addition, the Bosch Rexroth MTX micro compact CNC system has a pre-reading function that reads up to 999 statements at maximum and provides a TCP/IP Ethernet interface for high-speed DNC data transmission.

The VDP80 is equipped with a USB interface, and the program is read directly from the USB memory and processed in real time.

3.3 Magazine Management Function

The Rexroth MTX micro compact CNC system originally configured 24 tool data, which can be increased or decreased according to customer requirements.

The tool management functions can be flexibly configured according to the machine: geometry and wear compensation, tool life management, radius compensation, nose compensation, special tools, tool fixed number/variable number, etc.

4. Conclusion

The application of the Bosch Rexroth MTX micro compact CNC system on the customer's Q5 machine tool is stable and reliable. The system's programming capabilities and operational flexibility have been fully validated, providing a reference for future machine tool selection systems.
