Countermeasures for controlling leakage of hydraulic system

Leak detection first diagnoses the cause of the leak in the hydraulic system, which is the key to controlling the leak. Separate each part of the system and check for component leaks.

1. Selection and installation of seals

The correct selection of seals is mostly made of materials that are elastic or deformable. The correct choice of seal materials is the main factor determining seal performance and preventing leakage.

Therefore, the general requirements of modern hydraulic seal materials are:

1 Strong resistance to working medium erosion, small changes in long-term working volume and hardness;

2The elasticity and compression recovery are good, the permanent deformation is small, and it is even required to eliminate the gap caused by the eccentricity of the piston or the piston rod;

3 The material has good compactness and does not leak;

4 with appropriate mechanical strength and hardness;

5 has the flexibility and elasticity that can be attached to the sealing surface;

6 has good chemical stability in the working medium, has certain tolerance to the hydraulic oil and lubricating oil in the working device, does not swell, does not shrink, does not soften, does not harden;

7 Good corrosion resistance, long-term work in acid, alkali, oil and other media, its volume and hardness change is small, and it does not stick to the metal surface;

8 good ozone resistance and aging resistance, durable;

9 processing and manufacturing is convenient, the price is low. Any of these materials often cannot fully meet these requirements, and should be selected according to working conditions and requirements.

2. The sealing parts are installed so that the sealing is reliable and the service life is long. When designing the sealing groove, it is necessary to have a proper compression ratio, which cannot be too large or too small. If it is too large, the compressive stress increases, the frictional force increases, the seal wear is accelerated, the twisting damage is easily generated, the life is shortened, and sometimes the assembly is difficult; if it is too small, the sealing property is not good and the leakage is easy. The parts must be designed with a guide angle to avoid damage to the seal during assembly.

When installing, try to avoid excessive stretching to avoid deformation. It is important to note that the end face of the sealing lip must be perpendicular to the centerline of the shaft, otherwise the resulting offset will cause partial wear on one side of the lip and will not form a pump.

3. Precautions in actual work:

1 The hydraulic joint system should minimize the pipe joints. According to statistics, 30 to 40% of the leaks are at the pipe joints. Therefore, it is necessary to select a pipe joint of suitable structure.

Commonly used pipe joints in hydraulic systems are flared, ferrule and welded. Each of the three joints has its own characteristics and should be selected based on operational reliability and economy.

2 Select the appropriate hydraulic components to improve the surface accuracy of the components. If the system does not require fast switching, the wet solenoid valve should be selected because of its long life, low impact, and no dynamic seal at the push rod, eliminating leakage caused by the push rod.

3 to control the oil temperature of the hydraulic system. If the oil temperature is too high, the lubricating oil film becomes thinner, the friction is increased, the wear is intensified, the sealing material ages faster, making it hard and brittle, and may cause leakage quickly.

4 Prevent the equipment from running for overpressure and overspeed for a long time.

5 Keep the oil clean and replace the oil regularly.

6 Add dust-proof devices such as dust rings and dust shields to hydraulic components or seals that are easy to enter dust and dust.
