IFA, one of the largest and most significant consumer electronics shows in the global tech industry, took place in Berlin as planned on September 1, 2017. The event gathered numerous renowned companies from across the globe, showcasing their latest innovations. Among these participants, Hisense, a prominent Chinese brand, unveiled a series of four new ULED ultra-definition television models: the 9 series, 8 series, 7 series, and 6 series.
ULED, as described by the author, represents a cutting-edge display technology. Beyond enhancing general screen brightness and color parameters, ULED's hallmark lies in its partitioned backlight control. Traditional LCD TVs illuminate the screen using a full-backlight system, which can result in poor contrast when displaying darker images since the backlight cannot be dimmed selectively. ULED, however, divides the backlight into multiple zones, enabling intelligent recognition of images to ensure that bright areas remain lit while dark regions are dimmed. This results in superior picture quality.
Hisense showcased its 9-series ULED flagship model at this year's IFA event. This new product features advanced backlight partitioning technology capable of dividing the backlight into up to 1,000 zones, with each zone offering 4,096 levels of adjustment. Such precision surpasses what even OLED TVs can achieve, delivering unparalleled detail, depth, and clarity.
In addition to the 9-series, Hisense introduced an 8K TV for the European market at IFA. This model boasts an impressively slim design, measuring just 4.9mm thick, along with a wide color gamut. These features suggest it could set a new standard for ultra-thin and ultra-clear displays. Furthermore, Hisense debuted two new laser TVs: a 100-inch dual-color 4K model and an 88-inch single-color model. During on-site demonstrations, these products received enthusiastic responses from attendees.
Beyond TVs, Hisense displayed a diverse range of products at IFA, including washing machines, refrigerators, smartphones, smart home solutions, and even medical devices. This broad product lineup highlights Hisense's commitment to providing consumers with a comprehensive selection of high-quality items.
From this exhibition, it's clear that Hisense, a long-standing and award-winning Chinese company, continues to refine its strategy in smart product development. While excelling in household appliances, Hisense is also gaining attention with innovative "black technologies," indicating the maturation of its entire product portfolio. This evolution underscores Hisense's ambition to lead in both domestic and international markets, solidifying its position as a key player in the global electronics industry.
