This means that the long-term domestic dependence on imported LED chip manufacturing equipment will be broken, filling the gap in the domestic core technology. Affected by this, the price of related LED products will also drop significantly.
LED chips will go local
It is understood that this kind of equipment is the core technology in the LED industry chain, and has been monopolized by the United States, Germany, and Japan. "The equipment used by domestic LED manufacturers relies on imports, and the price of one imported is about 15 million yuan." Gan Zhiyin, the current general manager of Guangdong Zhaoxin Semiconductor Equipment Manufacturing Co., Ltd. explained that the purchase cost of the equipment occupies the entire production line of LEDs. Nearly two-thirds of the cost, which is the main reason why LED products are difficult to reduce.
Gan Zhiyin said that the equipment encountered many difficulties in the development process, and even blocked by foreign countries. According to reports, the equipment will be "closed" for 4 months to conduct product data testing, the fastest expected to enter the mass production phase after May this year, it is estimated that within 5 years will reach an output value of more than 1 billion yuan.

LED is the most promising industry in the 21st century, but the upstream and downstream development of the industry is currently uneven. Due to the relatively low capital and technical requirements for downstream packaging and applications, more than 80% of LED companies in China currently only have low-end packaging services; while upstream industries such as LED chips and epitaxial wafers have high technical and capital requirements, There are fewer companies involved, and development is relatively lagging behind.
