German automotive electronics supplier Hella recently announced that it is developing two new energy-management products to improve the performance of automotive electronic systems. Both products are regulators and DC/DC converters.
Hella's regulator is the main component of the fuel economy system and engine start-stop system. The regulator can provide a constant voltage for certain loads in the system that require a stable voltage, such as navigation displays, lighting, or radios.
Hella's bi-directional DC/DC converter links the power supply to two different voltages. When the engine needs to output different power, the converter starts controlling the output.
