PLSY: A 16-bit continuous pulse output command used for precise control of pulse signals. DPLSY: A 32-bit version of the same command, offering greater flexibility for advanced applications.
Programming format: PLSY K1000 D0 Y0
Here, K1000 represents the specified pulse frequency, which can be derived from registers, timers, counters, or bit components like K4X0. D0 is the number of pulses to be output, and it can also take similar data types. If D0 is set to zero, the pulse output will continue indefinitely. Y0 is the designated output terminal, which must be either Y0 or Y1.
Example: LD M0 PLSY D0 D10 Y1
When M0 is activated, the system will output the number of pulses defined by D10 at the frequency specified by D0 through Y1. If M0 turns off during the process, the pulse output stops immediately. When M0 is reactivated, the pulse sequence starts again from the beginning.
The PLSY command does not support acceleration or deceleration features. Once M0 is turned on, the pulse is generated at the frequency defined by D0, making it less ideal for high-speed motor or servo control. However, changing the value of D0 while the output is active allows for real-time speed adjustment.
During the pulse output, modifying the value of D10 does not affect the current pulse count. Only after the drive is reset and reactivated will the new pulse count be applied.
Key flags and registers associated with PLSY include:
- M8029: This flag closes once the pulse is completed. It automatically resets when M0 is turned off.
- M8147: Activates when Y0 is in use and deactivates after the pulse is sent.
- M8148: Similar to M8147 but for Y1.
- D8140: A 32-bit register that counts all pulses sent through Y0.
- D8142: A 32-bit register that tracks pulses sent through Y1.
- D8136: A 32-bit register that keeps a combined total of pulses from both Y0 and Y1.
Additional notes: When using the PLSY instruction, ensure that it is properly disconnected before being reactivated. If you attempt to restart the command without waiting for one full scan cycle on M8147 or M8148, an operation error may occur. Always follow this procedure to avoid unexpected issues.
