Pre-Google engineer claims: social platform threatens human survival

Global Internet Reports According to a report from the British Daily Mail on November 30th, Tristan Harris, a former Google engineer, recently expressed concerns about the growing influence of technology companies like Facebook. He claims that as these platforms gain more power, they should be viewed as a "major threat to human survival."

Harris argues that with over 2 billion daily users, platforms like Facebook have an immense impact on public thought. In his view, these tech giants now shape our daily thinking more than traditional institutions such as religion. He highlighted features like Snapchat's "Stand-up" and Facebook's "Message Sent" notification system, which encourage constant engagement and even dependency among users. These tools are designed to keep people hooked, making it difficult for them to disconnect.

"The average person checks their phone 150 times a day," Harris said. "Even when you're not looking at your phone, you're still being influenced by the ideas these platforms implant in your mind. This is a serious threat because the goals of these companies don't align with the interests of the general public or democratic values."

This isn't the first time Harris has raised concerns about the psychological manipulation by big tech. In an interview with CBS earlier this year, he warned that these "brain hackers" use addictive design to control users' behavior, emotions, and decisions. He emphasized that excessive reliance on digital devices can harm our ability to focus and think independently.

Harris’s warnings serve as a reminder of the growing need for awareness and regulation in the digital age. As technology continues to shape our lives, it's crucial to question who is really in control—and what that means for our freedom and well-being. Embedded PC

An embedded PC is a specialized computer system designed to be integrated into a larger device or system. It is typically smaller in size and lower in power consumption than a traditional desktop or laptop computer, yet it offers a wide range of capabilities and functionality.
Design and Features
Embedded PCs are designed to be highly reliable and durable, as they are often used in industrial, automotive, medical, and other mission-critical applications. They are typically built with solid-state components and have no moving parts, which reduces the risk of failure and increases their lifespan.
These systems are also designed to be compact and lightweight, making them easy to integrate into existing devices or systems. They often have a small form factor and can be mounted on a board or inside a enclosure, depending on the application.
In addition to their small size and reliability, embedded PCs often have a wide range of features and capabilities. They may include processors, memory, storage, and input/output (I/O) interfaces, as well as specialized features such as wireless connectivity, touchscreens, and sensors.
