The standard spectrum of the qualified CCL 4 showed no sharp peaks. If there were too many sharp peaks, CC14 failed. In order to make the measurement results accurate and reliable, distilled CCL 4 must be used as a blank absorbent. It can be judged whether or not CC14 is qualified by observing whether there is a sharp peak in the CCL 4 spectrum. The refining may be carried out several times at a time, and the distillation and adsorption methods may be alternately performed until it is qualified. After the refining of CCl; the blank value will gradually increase after a period of time, so the new distilled CCL 4 must be used for each measurement to ensure the accuracy of the test results. Also note that CC14 is exposed to plastic products, and the blank value will also increase. Therefore, the distilled CC14 is preferably contained in a glass bottle with a frosted port. It is not suitable to use a bottle with a plastic cover.
