It has been a while since I contacted Sairui. The first Sairui mouse was the Kinzu V3, a low-end entry-level rat. The resistance was good, but the buttons felt stiff, and after playing for a long time, my hands would get tired. Later, I moved into a paint master. . The painted one was really miserable (there's also a legend behind it). . . But in the end, I felt good about it. So I've always had confidence in Sairui. This time I tried the Sensei 310, a new mid-range symmetric mouse. For someone like me who loves Dota2, symmetry is my favorite. Let's open the box for the Sensei 310 and mix it with a bit of gold.
Mouse out of the box:Sairui's packaging style hasn't changed much. Black and red are still the main colors, similar to the Rival 310. A top-side rendering of the 310 is printed on the front, along with RGB lighting, split buttons, and the TrueMove 3 optical engine in the lower left corner.
The back of the packaging doesn’t need much explanation; it’s standard multi-language information.
Opening the inner package, it's all set! (Personally, I prefer the old Rival's flip-style packaging, which directly reveals the mouse body)
The inner box uses a hollow foam to secure and protect the mouse. The protection is solid, and the accessories are minimal—just one instruction sheet. I remember they used to send stickers before, but now it's pretty stingy. I can't help but feel a little disappointed.
Mouse details:The Sensei 310 is a symmetric mouse with four side keys. Compared to a right-handed ergonomic mouse, the symmetric design is more versatile, especially for MOBA games like Dota2. According to the official specs, the 310 series has been optimized in size and reduced slightly. However, from just looking at the Sensei 310, the difference isn't very obvious. The length is similar to the Sensei Master, but the width has increased a bit.
The surface is matte black and fine, which makes it less prone to fingerprints and easier to clean. However, the texture feels rougher than a smooth skin finish. The sides are slightly curved, making it easier to grip even though the mouse is wider. The back design is quite rugged.
The right side also features two side keys.
Unlike the Sensei Master, the Sensei 310 uses split keys. The gap between the key and the shell is chamfered, giving it a cleaner look and better build quality.
The scroll wheel is made of soft rubber, and its design is quite satisfying. The feel is slightly softer than Logitech's, and the lighting effect is average.
There are non-slip silicone wings, which may improve the grip feel.
The left and right sides each have two side keys, totaling four. However, compared to the Rival 310, the side keys on the Sensei 310 are smaller, which might not be as practical. Personally, I find the four side keys a bit excessive, and I rarely use the ones on the right. I wonder if other users actually make use of all four. It's something to think about.
The back of the mouse is relatively simple, with three large areas of Teflon feet. No unnecessary details.
The cable is a fine rubber cord, and the USB connector is not gold-plated, nor does it have anti-magnetic rings.
Features introduced:The highlight of this generation is the TrueMove 3 sensor. Sairui currently uses this sensor in three products: the Rival 110 with the TrueMove 1, and the Rival 310 and Sensei 310 with the TrueMove 3. The TrueMove 3 supports 100-1200 CPI, and offers 1:1 tracking up to 3500 CPI, ensuring smooth movement and no lag. It also reduces jitter at high speeds, making it a powerful sensor.
In my personal opinion, most high-end sensors offer more performance than needed. As long as the mouse can handle 1600 DPI without frame loss and move smoothly at high speeds, it should be sufficient for my gaming needs. Of course, this depends on the monitor I'm using. If I had a 5K monitor, 1600 DPI might not be enough. I did a quick test on a furious beast mouse pad at 800 and 1600 DPI, and the performance was stable, with smooth lines and no frame drops.
Experience feelings:Returning to the feel of the mouse. The Sensei 310 weighs 92.1g, which is relatively light. The split-button design gives consistent feedback on both sides, and the 50M switches feel familiar. The click strength is moderate. Compared to the Rival 310, which is more right-handed, the Sensei 310's symmetrical design helps with gripping during MOBA games. I love Dota2, and after using the Sensei 310, the experience was still very good. However, in daily use, the smaller side keys don’t feel as satisfying as the Rival 310.
As for the driver, there's not much to say. The Sensei 310 supports SteelSeries Engine 3 software, with onboard memory and full customization.
The lighting effects on the Sensei 310 are more basic, featuring only the tail logo and the scroll wheel.
To sum up:The Sensei 310 has a unique shape, but no flashy lights. It's normal, simple, but combined with the top-tier sensor, it delivers a great overall experience. Based on my personal experience, the Sensei 310 is definitely worth considering. The price of 399 yuan is a bit high, but I’m willing to wait. After all, the current price of mice is still fast. Buy early and enjoy early, buy late and enjoy benefits.
If you're an FPS player, I recommend the Rival 310 for its stability. If you're a MOBA player, the Sensei 310 is the clear choice. For non-gamers, the Rival 310 is also a great option due to its comfort and large side keys.
