The Swiss Federal Metrology and Accreditation Service issued regulations on physical measuring tools, space measuring instruments, measuring systems for continuous dynamic measuring of liquids (except water), automatic weighing instruments, heat meters, gas meters and gas volume conversion devices, on August 31, 2005. 8 regulations including exhaust analyzer and electric meter.
These eight regulations on different types of measuring instruments harmonize Swiss law with the new European Community Directive 2004/22/EC on measuring instruments. These regulations specify the special basic requirements and corresponding conformity assessments of measuring instruments and systems that are subject to statutory measurement control. These regulations control the procedures by which the measuring instrument is placed on the market and the metering characteristics are maintained after the sale.
These eight regulations correspond to special instrument accessories for the European Community Directive on measuring instruments. The proposed date of approval of the above-mentioned regulations is expected to be fixed. The proposed date of entry into force is October 30, 2006, and the deadline for comments is: October 25, 2005.
