Proper installation and commissioning of CNC machine tools play a crucial role in determining the overall reliability and performance of the equipment. High-quality setup not only enhances the machine's operational efficiency but also significantly reduces downtime and long-term maintenance expenses.

1. Key Considerations for Spindle Bearing Installation and Commissioning

(1) Single Bearing Installation

During assembly, it is essential to align the eccentricity of the spindle's inner hole with that of the shaft diameter as closely as possible. Similarly, the eccentricity of the bearing's inner ring and raceway should be matched to minimize the final misalignment after assembly. This careful alignment ensures smoother operation and longer service life.

(2) Two-Bearing Assembly

When installing two bearings on a spindle, the eccentricity of both front and rear bearings must be consistent. The front bearing should have a higher precision grade than the rear one to reduce the eccentricity at the front end of the assembled spindle. During disassembly, it's important to mark the circumferential position of the bearing before removal to maintain the original alignment during reassembly. This helps prevent unnecessary vibration or wear.

For bearings with an interference fit, use hot or cold mounting methods instead of forceful installation. Avoid hammering, which can damage the bearing and affect its performance.

2. Installation and Commissioning of Ball Screw Nut Pair

The ball screw nut pair is designed to handle axial loads only. Any radial forces or bending moments can cause excessive stress on the system, potentially leading to permanent damage. When installing, ensure the following:

(1) Proper Movement Range

Ensure the nut moves within the effective stroke length. Install limit switches at both ends to prevent the nut from falling off the screw and causing internal ball loss.

(2) Anti-Backlash Measures

Because the ball screw system is highly efficient and not self-locking, especially in vertical applications, it’s important to prevent reverse motion caused by the weight of components. Solutions include using worm gear drives or electric brakes.

(3) Alignment of Axes

The screw axis must be parallel to the guide rail axis. Ensure that the center of the bearing seat at both ends and the nut seat are aligned at three points for optimal performance.

(4) Handling the Nut and Screw

Do not remove the nut from the screw unless necessary. If you do, use an auxiliary sleeve to prevent the balls from falling out during handling.

(5) Careful Installation of the Nut

Avoid impact and misalignment when placing the nut into its housing. This ensures smooth operation and prevents premature wear.

(6) Protection Against Contamination

To protect the ball screw from chips and dust, consider adding protective covers such as spiral steel belts or wrinkle-type covers. In dusty environments, add sealing devices at both ends of the nut and screw.

3. Important Points for Linear Rolling Guide Installation

(1) Gentle Handling

Handle the linear guides carefully during installation to avoid damaging the rail or slider due to impact.

(2) Proper Slider Placement

Never detach the slider from the rail or push it beyond the stroke. If installation is difficult, use the guide rail as a reference to remove the slider safely.

(3) Pair Installation

When installing linear guides in pairs, start with the main rail and align it with the reference side of the mounting step. Once secured, install the auxiliary rail pair and check for parallelism and flatness. Finally, tighten the bolts on the sliders in sequence for stability.
