December 24 — Mobike has rolled out a festive surprise this holiday season with its "Christmas Songs" feature, adding a warm touch to the chilly winter days. But that’s just the beginning. The company has unveiled an exciting new experience called “Cat Bike,†blending fun and technology in a unique way.
To take part, simply open your phone, scan a Mobike bike, and a cute kitten will appear on your screen. This augmented reality (AR) feature is now available in several cities across Zhejiang Province, including Hangzhou, Jiaxing, Jinghua, and Quzhou. Nearly 5,000 physical AR-enabled bikes have been deployed as part of this campaign, offering users a playful and interactive way to engage with the brand.
The event is a collaboration between NetEase Insight and Mobike. When you scan a designated pattern in the basket of a Mobike bike, you can randomly summon an adorable AR cat with different poses. It's like having a little companion right on your phone screen, making every ride a bit more magical.
In addition to the AR cats, the "comet" theme took over Hangzhou from December 22 to 23. During this time, the Mobike app was filled with cat-themed visuals, and even the monthly cards featured cat faces. Users were encouraged to "suck up" the cuteness, immersing themselves in a feline-filled digital world.
All Mobike bikes in Hangzhou were transformed into cat-headed designs, and the month card even showcased a comet photo. Whether you're riding or just browsing the app, it's a chance to feel surrounded by these adorable creatures. It's not just a bike — it's a full-on cat adventure. With every swipe and scan, the experience feels fresh, fun, and full of life.
