The reporter learned from the Provincial Administration for Industry and Commerce that the industrial and commercial departments conducted directional monitoring on the quality of cable products sold on the province's market in the first half of the year. It is understood that in this monitoring, the Provincial Administration for Industry and Commerce entrusted the Guizhou Province Physical and Chemical Testing Analysis and Research Center with a total of 14 conductor resistances, finished product voltage tests, insulated core voltage tests, insulation resistance, average insulation thickness, and product representation methods for cables. A total of 41 indicators were randomly selected from 46 areas in Guiyang, Zunyi, Liupanshui, Anshun, Tongren, Bijie, and Qiandongnan states.

After testing, 40 batches of goods were judged as unqualified due to problems, and the unqualified items mainly included the maximum resistance of the conductor at 20°C, the average outer diameter, the thickness of the thinnest part of the sheath, the thickness of the sheath, and the method of product representation. For eight indicators, the industry and commerce department pointed out that the conductor resistance is an important indicator for examining the electrical transmission performance of the cable. The DC resistance of the conductor is unqualified. During the actual use of the cable, not only will the loss caused by the current passing through the line be increased, but also the power will be wasted. Seriously, this kind of loss will be dissipated in the form of heat, which will lead to aging of the insulation material. If it is light, the service life of the cable will be shortened, and if it is heavy, a short circuit will be formed, which will result in fire and endanger the safety of personal and property.

To this end, the Provincial Bureau of Industry and Commerce reminded consumers that when purchasing cable products, they must check the packaging labels to see if there are factory names and origins, product models, specifications, implementation standards, etc., and the “three no” products or labels are not clear. The best thing to do is not to buy; the next thing to compare is to compare the cable of multiple manufacturers, compare the price, weight, wire diameter, insulation layer, etc. of the same specification, if there is any price that is obviously too low, and pay attention to whether the conductor diameter is The section indicated on the certificate is the same, and whether the insulation layer and sheath layer are damaged.
