On November 30th, the 2016 Baidu Cloud Intelligence Conference, with the theme of “Intelligence, Computing Unlimited Possibilities”, was held in Beijing, focusing on the three major industries of Yunzhi, and in-depth discussion of its penetration and application in the whole industry. Baidu’s strategic layout in the cloud has never stopped.

Baidu Cloud is based on the "ABC" trinity strategy. For example, in the future, artificial intelligence will become as important as electricity, and it will dominate everyone's digital life experience. Big data is like a new energy source, allowing service providers to better understand user needs and make it easier for users to get the goods and services they like. The cloud provides the foundation for a variety of applications and service operations.

As we all know, the three levels of cloud computing are mainly Iaas, Paas and Saas. Baidu Cloud has unique advantages in each of these three levels.

At the bottom is the basic IaaS, infrastructure as a service, Baidu has the support of Baidu brain composed of the largest GPU/FPGA cluster in China, the largest HAHOOP/SPARK cluster and the most efficient data center. Years of experience in servicing large-scale businesses, operating large data centers, and supporting multiple workflows will provide security for cloud services.

The middle layer is PaaS, and the platform is the service. The difference between Baidu PaaS is that AI is at the bottom of the spectrum as a horizontal service. Baidu brain is the core engine of Baidu cloud, Baidu cloud is the cloud of Baidu brain, providing the neuron and data training source for the former.

At the top of the SaaS software-as-a-service layer, Baidu emphasizes the understanding, penetration and customization of vertical industries. In addition, it is more to create an ecological service industry with industry partners: medical cloud, education cloud, financial cloud, traffic cloud, logistics and so on.

Liu Wei, general manager of Baidu Cloud, said that although cloud computing has been widely accepted by Internet companies, its entry into the enterprise market is only just beginning this year. Large and medium-sized Internet companies are really doing big data business, and artificial intelligence is only super. Large Internet companies or professional AI companies are involved, whether it is the big data market or the artificial intelligence field, they are still far from the stage of rapid development.

In recent years, Baidu has successively used artificial intelligence technology for every level of business such as search, security, medical care, education, and unmanned vehicles, supporting Baidu's core business development. The release of the Tianzhi platform marks that Baidu’s brain capabilities will be officially opened to the public through Baidu Yuntianzhi.

Zhang Yaqin, president of Baidu, said at the Baidu Yunzhi Conference held on November 30th: “When we judge the development trend of information technology, our view is that “ABC” consists of artificial intelligence, big data and cloud computing. In the future, Baidu Cloud will continue to share technology and openness capabilities, and provide intelligent solutions for all walks of life through the four intelligent platforms of Tianchi, Tianxiang, Tiangong and Tianzhi, and fully meet the ABC era.
