In 2018, the commercialization of 8K display technology is expected to begin, marking a major shift in the television industry. LGD is focusing on OLED-based 8K displays, but current 60Hz 8K panels use an a-Si process. For 120Hz panels, they are shifting to oxide technology, which offers better performance in terms of speed and energy efficiency compared to a-Si.
